New Dog Co ("I," "me" on this page) runs newdogco.com. This page explains what personal information the website collects, why, who processes it, and your choices. I keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and to see which guides are useful.

What I collect

The email you submit to one of the free-download forms (the First Week Kit and the Free Printables Pack). If (and only if) you enter your email to request a free download, I collect that email address. These are the only forms on the site, and I do not ask for your name, address, or phone number. That submission is delivered and processed for me by Web3Forms (see their privacy policy). I use your email for two things: (1) to deliver the free kit, and (2) to occasionally send product news, new guides, and shop updates. I do not use a third-party email-marketing company, and I never sell or share your address. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or using the contact channel, and you can ask me to delete your address whenever you like. I keep your email only while you remain subscribed, and delete it when you unsubscribe or ask.

Traffic statistics. I use two analytics tools to see which pages and guides people find useful:

Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless. It sets no tracking cookies, does not fingerprint or follow you across sites, and reports only aggregate figures (page views, referring sites, country, device type).
Google Analytics 4, run by Google LLC, sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) so it can tell a returning browser from a new one. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you, clicks on links to my Etsy shop, words typed into the site's search boxes, a few tool actions (such as downloading a vaccine reminder to your calendar), your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address). Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. I see only aggregated reports and do not use them to identify you. Google signals and advertising features are turned off, and the property is not linked to any ad account. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Your choice about Google Analytics. If you visit from the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein, Google Analytics stays off until you click OK on the cookie bar at the bottom of the page; if you click "No thanks," it never loads. Anyone, anywhere, can change their answer with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Your answer is saved in your own browser. You can also opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies. The site works the same either way.

Settings stored in your own browser. A few things are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them: your cookie choice, whether you closed the seasonal banner or the Spanish-version suggestion, and, only if you choose to save them, your dog's name, weight, and size in the free tools and your puppy's birth date in the vaccine schedule. These stay on your device and are never sent to me. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

I do not run accounts, collect payment details, serve ads, or build advertising profiles on this site.

Purchases happen on Etsy

My guides and products are sold through my Etsy shop, not on this website. When you buy, checkout and payment are handled entirely by Etsy under Etsy's own Privacy Policy. I never see or store your card details. Links from this site to Etsy carry labels (such as utm_source=newdogco.com) that tell my Etsy stats which page sent a visit; they contain no personal information. Anything you share when messaging me on Etsy is handled under Etsy's policies.

Who processes your data (third parties)

Web3Forms: delivers the free-kit form submission (your email).
Google (Google Analytics 4): traffic statistics, as described above.
Cloudflare: hosts the site, protects it from abuse, and provides the cookieless analytics. Cloudflare may set strictly-necessary security cookies to keep the site online and safe.
Etsy: handles all purchases and shop messages.

I do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Cookies

The site uses two kinds of cookies: Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_…, kept for up to 2 years) for the traffic statistics above, set in the EU, the UK, and the other countries listed above only after you click OK, and Cloudflare's strictly-necessary security cookies. There are no advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking the Google Analytics cookies doesn't affect any page or tool.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar)

The only personal data I hold directly is an email address you chose to give me, so your rights are simple to exercise. You may request to access, correct, or delete your email, and opt out of my emails at any time. To do so, reply to any email, or contact me (the fastest channel is a message through my Etsy shop). Analytics data stays in Google's and Cloudflare's systems as aggregated reports; you can block it as described above. I don't sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. I'll respond within the timeframe your local law requires.

Children

This site is meant for adults caring for pets and is not directed to children under 13. I don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If I change how I handle data, I'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes to email use would be described here before they take effect.
